Meet Maria

Born in Eastern Europe and raised in Seattle, Washington, Maria Kordit began ballroom dancing at the age of nine, training in the world of classical DanceSport (Ballroom Standard and Latin). Over the years, she studied with some of the most respected dancers in the field, becoming a 10-dancer before ultimately focusing on Latin. Her training shaped both her technical skill and her respect for discipline and artistry.
Alongside dance, Maria was always deeply committed to academics. Her interest in healthcare and community impact led her into public health policy and technology, where she built a career focused on large-scale innovation across Medicaid and Medicare systems after earning her master’s degree from Columbia University.
No matter where her professional path led, dance remained constant. Every week, she continued teaching, working with wedding couples, supporting post-injury recovery through movement, and helping people reconnect with confidence and presence. Over time, dance evolved beyond a syllabus - it became a tool for healing, empowerment, and real community connection, not just performance.
Time Voyagers Ball grew from Maria’s deep love of art, culture, and human innovation. She is especially inspired by the Gilded Age and early modern era, a time when electricity, flight, automobiles, wireless communication, modern medicine, and the early women’s rights movement all emerged in rapid succession. It was a period driven by curiosity, experimentation, and belief in progress, alongside remarkable beauty in fashion, music, architecture, and craftsmanship.
Time Voyagers Ball is Maria’s way of bringing that spirit into the present. More than a dance event, it is an immersive experience meant to slow people down, spark imagination, and remind us what is possible when creativity and innovation meet. Her hope is that guests don’t just observe history, but feel inspired by it.
Beyond Time Voyager’s Ball, Maria is the founder of MK Creative Arts Studio, a respected creative space known for its commitment to artistry, thoughtful instruction, and community-centered dance education. Through the studio, she has spent years teaching, mentoring, and fostering meaningful connection through movement.
